Herbal Medicine

Using Chinese herbs as a companion to acupuncture can be a powerful tool in the healing process. Chinese herbology is a science and art stretching back more than 5,000 years, and represent an enormous knowledge base of their own.

Like acupuncture, rather than treating symptoms, Chinese herbology treats the root of illness with the goal of curing the patient so that the medicine is no longer required. Normally, during the course of a treatment, patients might be encouraged to incorporate herbal medicine into their treatment program. But this isn’t required. We are also available for herbal consultations.

The Chinese medical model, which incorporates acupuncture and herbs, among other practices, emphasizes harmony and balance. It teaches that our physical health is carefully interwoven with our emotions, lifestyle, and environment, and that each part affects the other, bringing health — or illness — to the whole.

We believe that Chinese Medicine gives us the opportunity to touch the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of ourselves, allowing our bodies to connect with its natural cycles and to ultimately heal itself.
